Look what I stumbled into.
Tragi-Comedy if I ever saw it. The video is only the start.
.
First I would like to welcome my newest subscriber at youtube:
masterchiefer and say "Thanks!!!" to him and all my subscribers and supporters!
I found this suspicious Halo 3 Spartan Master Chief listing.
I will have to say I am not familiar with some of these video games and characters, so I was unaware of their popularity before I started into this.

Hacker's email address observed in the listing:
sa1vina2bani@gmail.com
which as of yet does not show as a hijacker's known address.
(other than what I have here and also on youtube documented)
Please note the other items found with that address in the seller's items are standard fair for the hijackers to list. Further, the seller/victim scrubnscrubs has over 500 other items listed at this time which do NOT contain that address.
I searched ebay for that exact title, and only found that fake item.
However, after googling the exact term
"Master Chief Halo Costume - Personal Collection - Best Armor Available"
I located a nearly identical ended listing on the ebay Italy website, which looks to be the legit item.

Here is the google cache page of that, from ebay.it
Resized, and here full-sized
Hilarious!!!
Now I was able to search that by item number as well, both on ebay and also google.
Here is the ebay US listing resized and full-sized
By that time, I must have been laughing too hard, plus I had other things happening, and I forgot to get the USA page from Google's cached pages.
I am not sure whether I have any captures of the funny pics in the active hijacked listing. They were most definitely not there when I made the vid or the screencaps, but it could not have been much later when I found those from ebay IT, or USA or even google's cached pages. (which are no doubt "fed" images by whatever the live source is. There was a lot happening, when I returned to it later it may have slipped my mind to look. If I find it, I will post it here.
But now today we see yet a slightly different version of that. Note a couple of the pix have changed, but that bottom one still is hoky. Full-sized and resized. Notice that page was cached as the listing was live. I doubt very much even the remaining hoky picture seen was there while it was still live. Still hilarious! Note that I actually took these screen captures late last night, they remain the same today
My bet is that the rightful owner/auction lister spotted or been tipped off quickly to the fake listing which was placed by a hijacker under the account of victim/seller scrubnscrubs, and changed out the pix at his source/server to pwn the hacker! I wonder why he apparently changed the other 2?
Still though, I am LMAO! @ the PWNAGE!!!
My guess is that the hackers are laughing too. We know they are quite the jokesters already.
I see at 405th.com that someone with the same or remarkably similar name to the original ebay seller is site Admin. That must be the suit owner. No doubt. Sorry that happened to you Adam. Glad to see you at least fought any way you could! Consider using a big ugly watermark in your pictures if you try again. The hackers have tried to spoof other high profile or one-of a kind items before, so having something one-of-a-kind does not mean jack-doodley-squat. It may even make you are target it seems.
This was a very high profile item and it was mentioned far & wide, with a lot of watchers etc, It was even on the ebay pulse from what I can see. There is a discussion about it over at digg.com, where, according to comments, it appears the seller did not get paid. Sad, but typical of any such items on ebay anymore. I wonder what his final value fees were? Good thing ebay get theirs no matter what happens, eh?
But the focus here is really on the hijacking/hacking.
Now here is that and the other bogus listings in the hijacked seller's items
Here resized (getting ahead of my self here a tad)
Here is a screen capture of a search made shortly after the video, showing 5 items with the hackers' email address. within the seller's items. Click here for the Full-Sized view
Just a short while later however, I conducted the same search again, only to find a listing for an Apple iPhone now in the items Click here for Full view See that? Now showing 6 items. Note the times are on the bottom of the screen captures.
Here are some of the hijacked listings in the seller's store Full sized and resized.
Here we see the Apple iPhone and the Halo 3 suit on page 2 of the store, in gallery view.
Full sized and resized. Note those times remaining.
Now, another peculiarity. That iPhone listing showed sudenly and miraculously with only 9 hrs left.
Screen captures: Resized
and Full-Sized
If you have been paying attention, you will even note that was after I had uploaded the video to youtube.
Note that the suit was a seven day listing. Yet we see that it shows with less that 24 hrs remaining, and only 645 hits.
Here again is a resized screen capture of that Halo 3 Suit listing.
Click here for the full-sized screen capture
The same holds true for the iPhone listing. Note the seven day duration, yet only 28 hits.(see capture) Remarkable that 2 such high profile items would have such relatively low views, eh?
Here I have a screen capture of the cached seller's list from September 17th, AFTER the Halo 3 suit was allegedly listed, yet note there are NO entertainment items seen in the category area. Also there is no tiny link of the word "more" as we see sometimes.
Here is a resized screen capture of the entire page, and here is the full sized image.
Here is yet another cached page from the seller/Victims store, on 09-18-2007
Full sized and resized
Also, are we supposed to really believe that all these big-time power sellers are just giving away their passwords or being phished or
fooled day after day?
I am sure some kool-aid swilling shills could point out all the reasons why. I say BS!
Again, look at ALL we have seen!
