Looks like some controversy is brewing between ebay and the online auction industry news leader, AuctionBytes.
In a post entitled "Spin City: eBay Struggles to Control the Message"
Mr Steiner makes this statement: "There was a palpable shift when John Donahoe transitioned into the role of CEO and Jose Mallabo took over as Director of Corporate Communications early last year."...The dialogue since then has been decidedly one-sided. Over the course of the past year, Ina has been chided for the "tone" of her articles by members of the eBay PR team. In an incident at last year's eBay Live, Ina was pulled aside by Usher Lieberman, a member of eBay's PR team, and was told not to ask about specific user's issues or else she would no longer be granted access to eBay executives. Two months later, Lieberman offered for eBay to pay Ina's way to San Jose for a briefing on the August 2008 changes and meetings with top executives. When Ina declined this inappropriate offer in favor of phone interviews, the briefing was granted, but access to top executives was withdrawn....
There is also this hilarious incident (pictured below) re-hashed which shows clearly the sort of values that ebay really has. The true state of Corporate Culture at sleazebay.

Clearly ebaY does more to spin, to obfuscate, distract, deceive, etc etc ad nauseum than any other entity we have ever seen. George Orwell would be rolling in his grave if he could see it all.
This has also spawned an article on the Wall Street Journal site:
AuctionBytes Bites Back at eBay
Comments at both blogs are lively. Some very interesting on their own. At the auctionbytes blog, there is a poster known as "Ming The Merciless" (Not that the almighty Ming ever reads here, but he is one of my Heroes btw) Ming has been the target of constant harassment and personal attacks, presumably by ebay sponsored trolls, as he is quite outspoken about ebay management and policies. I advise everyone to listen to MIng.
There was also a comment regarding the fact that paid endorsers must reveal their relationship to their sponsors, then also a link to the definitions and a link to where to complain posted by EventHorizon1984. I hope everyone makes a lot of noise about the paid shills. This has gone on long enough. This is a sleazy practice reminiscent of goons, enforcers; cyber equivalents to 1930s era organized criminal gangsters.
There is way too much to type out out in the time I have for this. Oh, Jose Mallabo gets pwned on youtube too. roflol
But no one knows more than I do about the depths of depravity that ebay will go to to keep the truth from being known. My videos regarding the hack attack on the trust and safety forum and a live screenrecording of the ID stealing xss flaw have been deleted for no good reasons, and oh! just so very many other things...
BTW, I have a channel full of ebaY exposing videos at youtube in case no one knows that. Have a look.
I have a sneaky hunch that ebay has started a war they cannot possibly win.
